The Windsor Police Service announced that a 27-year-old man has been arrested for impaired driving following a car collision with a house. Responding to a call on Armanda Street close to Malden Road around 2:30 a.m. on a recent Thursday, officers discovered the vehicle positioned on the front lawn of the residence, with its front bumper resting against the front steps. The driver, who was still inside the vehicle, displayed various signs of potential impairment such as glossy, red eyes, slurred speech, unsteadiness while standing, and difficulty remaining awake, according to the police.
After detaining the driver, law enforcement officials transported him to Windsor police headquarters, where he underwent a breathalyzer test that indicated his blood alcohol level was more than double the legal limit. The individual has since been charged with impaired driving. Fortunately, no injuries were documented in the incident, although the property sustained over $10,000 in damages.
