A prisoner who escaped from HMP Thorn Cross in Warrington has been apprehended by the police. Kieran Cameron, aged 43, fled the prison on January 6 while serving a 23-year sentence for attempted murder in Dorset in 2016.
Cheshire Police sought the public’s assistance in locating Cameron, advising against approaching him. However, in a recent update, the police confirmed his arrest in the Hulme area of Greater Manchester. The authorities expressed relief, stating that the fugitive had been captured by officers from the Cheshire Police Serious and Organised Crime unit.
Cameron was convicted for his involvement in an attack in February 2016, where he and another individual, Michael O’Rourke, brutally stabbed a 22-year-old man from Poole multiple times. The victim sustained ten stab wounds to various parts of his body during the incident.
Detective Sergeant Jamie Halford of Bournemouth CID commended the court’s sentencing, emphasizing the gravity of knife-related violence and the swift actions of the public and medical personnel in aiding the victim.
