The state of Oregon in the United States recently experienced a magnitude 6 earthquake, as confirmed by the United States Geological Survey (USGS). The earthquake was reported at 7:25 pm local time on Thursday, January 15, occurring 183 miles from Bandon, Oregon.

Residents along the Oregon coastline reported feeling tremors, but fortunately, no significant structural damage has been reported. The epicenter of the earthquake was located 295 km west of Bandon, Oregon, with a depth of around 10 km below the earth’s surface, according to the USGS.

As of now, the USGS has not issued a tsunami warning, but there is a possibility of aftershocks being felt in the following week. Following the confirmation of the earthquake, Oregon residents have been sharing their experiences on social media.

While some individuals, like a user from the base of the Cascades near Kings County and Mount Rainier National Park, did not feel the earthquake, others from Newberg and Eugene in Oregon reported feeling the tremors.
