Mark Wright playfully mentioned that a recent project of his was deemed so “terrible” by his wife Michelle Keegan that she refused to watch it. Mark, a former star of “The Only Way is Essex,” has been married to “Coronation Street” actress Michelle since 2015.
The couple welcomed their first child, Palma, into the world in March. Following his departure from TOWIE nearly 15 years ago, Mark, 38, has appeared on various shows such as “Strictly Come Dancing” and The Bachelor.
In 2024, Mark took on a Saturday morning radio gig on Heart FM alongside ex-“X Factor” contestant Olly Murs, 41. As part of their work, Mark and Olly engaged in friendly competitions on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, including taking selfies with cartoon characters at Warner Bros World, riding the 149mph Formula Rossa rollercoaster at Ferrari Land, and racing speed boats.
During a segment on Heart Breakfast, Mark shared that the toughest challenge was navigating the rapids, where they struggled with ill-fitting flippers while trying to catch swiftly moving items.
When asked about Michelle’s reaction to the challenges, Mark humorously revealed that she opted to stay out of it, watching videos from the poolside with a cocktail in hand. Amanda Holden teased Mark about his wife’s disinterest, leading to a light-hearted exchange.
Mark clarified that his earlier gratitude was directed towards his mother, Carol, not Michelle. Carol, 65, expressed joy in babysitting Palma, describing her as a delightful child who enjoys being active and making noise.
In a podcast episode, Carol shared her approach to being a mother-in-law, emphasizing her conscious effort to avoid appearing overbearing towards Michelle. She acknowledged the delicate balance in accepting a new member into the family, underscoring the need to maintain a respectful distance.
