Apple has officially unveiled its latest smartphone, the iPhone 17e, confirming earlier predictions. Following the iPhone 16e, this new model maintains Apple’s approach of offering essential features at a more budget-friendly price compared to its flagship counterparts.

Priced at £599, the iPhone 17e is significantly more affordable than the iPhone 17 and comes with 256GB of storage as a standard feature, doubling the base storage capacity of its predecessor.

Enhancements in the iPhone 17e include a faster A19 chip for improved performance compared to the A18 in the previous model. It also boasts the latest C1X cellular modem from Apple, promising faster speeds for downloads and streaming on cellular networks.

Featuring a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR display with vibrant visuals, the iPhone 17e is protected by durable Ceramic Shield glass to resist scratches and everyday impacts. The addition of MagSafe allows for faster wireless charging and easy attachment of compatible accessories.

Camera enthusiasts will appreciate the 48MP Fusion camera in the iPhone 17e, which offers advanced sensor technology for enhanced zoom capabilities and supports 4K video recording at up to 60 frames per second.

Safety features like Emergency SOS via satellite and Crash Detection further enhance the utility of the iPhone 17e. The device will be available in black, white, and a new soft pink finish, starting at £599.

Kaiann Drance, Apple’s vice president of Worldwide iPhone Product Marketing, emphasized the iPhone 17e’s powerful performance and value proposition, catering to users seeking an affordable upgrade within the iPhone 17 family. The device is designed to deliver exceptional performance, enhanced durability, and long-term value to users.
