Hari Budha Magar, a celebrated Pride of Britain hero, has achieved a remarkable feat by becoming the first double amputee to conquer the Seven Summits challenge, scaling the highest peak on each continent globally.

The former Gurkha, who lost his legs in a tragic incident in Afghanistan in 2010, defied all odds and completed the challenging Seven Summits journey. Hari reached the summit of Mount Vinson in Antarctica, standing at an altitude of 4892m, using specially designed prosthetic legs adapted for snowy and icy conditions.

Expressing his elation, Hari shared, “It’s just an amazing feeling. I don’t know how we did it – but the Seven Summits are complete. As someone with a disability – with double over knee amputation – I have done the impossible and climbed them all. I feel very emotional.”

Hari, at the age of 46, undertook this monumental quest to raise awareness and funds for five commendable charities, including the Gurkha Welfare Trust and BLESMA. His journey symbolizes resilience and determination, sending a powerful message of hope to individuals facing challenges.

The Seven Summits challenge, renowned as the ultimate mountaineering accomplishment, includes conquering peaks like Mount Everest in Nepal, Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, Denali in Alaska, Aconcagua in Argentina, Vinson Massif in Antarctica, Carstensz Pyramid in New Guinea, and Mount Elbrus in Russia.

Despite facing adversities and physical hardships during the perilous climb, Hari persevered and emerged victorious. His unwavering spirit and courage have inspired many worldwide.

Hari, who hails from Nepal and served in the British Army, has set a remarkable example of resilience and determination. His incredible journey of overcoming adversity and achieving the extraordinary serves as a beacon of inspiration for others facing challenges in life.
