Apple had a bustling week with a series of product launches. The tech giant introduced the iPhone 17e, upgraded iPad Air, and new MacBook Pro models featuring M5 processors. The latest announcement unveils the MacBook Neo, a laptop with a more affordable price tag.

The MacBook Neo boasts a colorful design, impressive performance, and a 13-inch high-resolution screen priced at £599, making it the first Mac available for under £600. This marks a significant £500 price difference compared to the latest MacBook Air released the same week.

Powered by Apple’s A18 Pro-series smartphone processor, the Neo may not match the speed of M-powered PCs but offers sufficient performance for daily digital tasks. Running macOS, it provides access to popular applications like Microsoft Word, Pages, and iMovie.

The laptop is energy-efficient, providing over 15 hours of battery life. It includes two USB-C ports but lacks MagSafe charging. Additional features comprise a 1080p FaceTime HD camera, Touch ID fingerprint scanner, dual side-firing speakers with Spatial Audio and Dolby Atmos support, a Magic Keyboard, and Multi-Touch trackpad.

Available for pre-order now, the MacBook Neo comes in Silver, Indigo, Blush, and Citrus color options and will hit stores next week. Apple’s senior vice president of Hardware Engineering, John Ternus, expressed excitement about the launch, emphasizing the laptop’s affordability and unique features tailored for a broader audience.
