A significant number of applications and services require a monthly subscription fee for their usage, and now WhatsApp may be following suit. Observations by the vigilant team at WABetaInfo suggest that the chat platform owned by Meta is in the process of developing an upgrade known as WhatsApp Plus.

This upgrade is expected to introduce exclusive enhancements and functionalities, such as the ability to pin up to 20 chats instead of the current limit of 3, enhanced customization options including changing the app’s theme, icon, and accent colors.

Additionally, users might gain access to extra stickers, more ringtones, and immersive reactions for chat responses. WABetaInfo stated, “WhatsApp is working on a new optional premium subscription package for its standard consumer app, offering additional features in exchange for a monthly fee. This package, named ‘WhatsApp Plus,’ is currently in development for Android and iOS and has not been publicly released yet.”

In addition to the initial upgrades, it is anticipated that Meta could introduce more premium features progressively for those willing to pay. While WhatsApp has not officially confirmed these speculations, test versions of the Plus app have been identified by WABetaInfo, indicating its ongoing development.

It is important to note that the free version of WhatsApp will remain available, and users will not be mandated to pay for the premium features. This subscription model aims to provide a bonus to users who are willing to pay a monthly fee voluntarily.

Stay tuned for further updates on WhatsApp Plus. Exciting developments may be on the horizon.
