JD Vance and his spouse, Usha, are anticipating the arrival of their fourth child. The official office of the Second Lady, aged 40, has confirmed that they are expecting a baby boy later this year.
In a recent Twitter post, the couple shared their excitement about Usha’s pregnancy, stating that both mother and baby are healthy. They eagerly await the new addition to their family in late July. The post expressed gratitude towards the military doctors for their exceptional care and the staff supporting their family life and service to the country. The message was signed by Vice President JD and Usha.
Usha is set to become the first Second Lady to give birth while in office. The last First Lady to do so was Jackie Kennedy, the wife of President John F. Kennedy, back in 1963.
JD and Usha first met in 2013 at Yale Law School and quickly developed a close bond. JD, also known as James David, confessed his love to Usha early on. He described her as his “Yale spirit guide” in his memoir, crediting her with helping him navigate the Ivy League environment coming from a working-class background.
Their wedding ceremonies, blending Christian and Hindu traditions, took place on June 14, 2014, in Kentucky, JD’s home state. They later held a Hindu ceremony to honor Usha’s heritage.
The couple already has three children: sons Ewan, aged eight, Vivek, aged five, and daughter Mirabel, aged four. Despite recent speculations about their marriage, JD dismissed the rumors, emphasizing their strong bond. Usha’s occasional absence of her wedding ring was clarified by a spokesperson, attributing it to the demands of motherhood and daily chores.
JD praised Usha’s adaptability and growth in her role, highlighting the strength of their relationship. He emphasized the balance of sacrifices and rewards in their marriage, affirming their enduring commitment to each other.
