Russia has issued a new threat of World War 3 towards Britain, this time targeting Sir Keir Starmer as well. Dmitry Rogozin, a senior associate of Vladimir Putin, criticized Starmer as “illiterate and a fool” for proposing to station British troops in Ukraine under a peace agreement. Rogozin suggested that this move could make the UK vulnerable to missile attacks from Russia.
Rogozin, a former deputy premier and space agency head under Putin, stated that historical enemies like England, France, and the Turks never entertained such ideas even after Russia’s defeat in the Crimean War. Despite calling Starmer ignorant and foolish, Rogozin warned of severe consequences for the UK if they proceed with such plans.
In response, Starmer announced plans for the UK and France to create military bases on Ukrainian territory to support Kyiv’s defense efforts. A joint declaration signed by the UK Prime Minister, French President, and Ukrainian leader paved the way for British and French military presence in Ukraine post-ceasefire.
Meanwhile, Putin reportedly declared to his troops that their actions in Ukraine are sanctioned by God. This claim of a holy war was made during an Orthodox Christmas service attended by military intelligence officers and their families. Putin was seen alongside the commander of military unit 92154, accused of orchestrating an explosion in Poland.
Putin justified overnight attacks on Ukraine as fulfilling a divine mission to defend and save the country, portraying Russian soldiers as executing God’s will rather than his political decisions. This portrayal aimed to legitimize military actions using Orthodox theology.
The Christmas service, held at a church within the Senezh Special Purpose Centre, brought together top military officials, including the commander of unit 92154. Putin’s presence at the service was seen as a symbolic gesture of approval towards GRU operatives amidst escalating covert activities in Europe.
European security services have raised concerns about increased Russian covert operations, with a specific focus on unit 92154 and the newly established “Department of Special Tasks.” These structures have been linked to sabotage and assassination plots across Europe, including a DHL parcel bombing scheme.
