Several police officers and paramedics were taken to the hospital after two separate accidents occurred on the A130 in Essex.

In the early hours of January 10, three police officers and two paramedics sustained injuries when they were struck by a van while responding to a prior road crash. The officers and paramedics had stopped to assist a Nissan X-Trail that had collided on the A130 around 12:15 am. Authorities have arrested three individuals in connection with the incidents.

Chief Superintendent Morgan Cronin expressed concern for the injured emergency workers and emphasized that Essex Police was providing support to them and their families.

Cronin urged the public to refrain from speculation and allow the investigative teams to ascertain the facts surrounding both accidents. The arrested individuals are currently in custody, and investigative efforts are ongoing.

Essex Police appealed to anyone with information or dashcam footage related to the incidents to come forward to aid the investigation.

Following the morning collisions, three individuals have been arrested. Charges include suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, theft of a motor vehicle, and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

One paramedic and one police officer sustained severe injuries and are currently hospitalized, as reported by Essex Police. The officers and paramedics were hit by a van while rendering assistance to the initial crash involving a Nissan X-Trail on the A130.

The road closure between Sadlers Farm roundabout and the A1245 on the A130 is advised for motorists due to the morning collisions. Authorities have shut down the road and are conducting investigations.

Essex Police issued a statement regarding the ongoing serious collision response on the A13, mentioning the involvement of paramedics and off-duty police officers in the incident. A secondary collision occurred at the scene, resulting in injuries to the responders who were subsequently hospitalized.

Drivers are advised to check for updates on road reopening and plan their journeys accordingly, as the A130 remains closed between Sadlers Farm roundabout and the A1245. Essex Police expressed gratitude for drivers’ patience during the ongoing investigative procedures.
