Some Sky customers are facing an annoying issue with the popular ITVX app. Reports of glitches disrupting viewing experiences started surfacing late last week. Users have been complaining that the app skips to the end of programs randomly, cutting off their viewing midway and abruptly displaying the credits without any manual fast-forwarding.
On Sky’s forum page, a user named Dazzasky expressed frustration, stating, “ITV Player randomly skips ahead, usually right to the end of the episode and is making it quite difficult tbh… this has been happening for the last 4 or 5 days.” Another user named Dawn also reported similar problems, mentioning, “Is anyone else having issues watching programs on ITVX for the last 3 days? I’m watching then jumped to the end randomly and then showing as watched. It usually happens at the beginning of the program or straight after an ad break.”
The issue seems to be affecting users with Sky’s online devices such as Sky Stream boxes and Glass TVs. While it’s uncertain if Sky Q is also impacted, most complaints are from users with broadband-connected devices rather than satellite dishes.
Despite the cause remaining unknown, a Sky representative named Kev has acknowledged the situation and assured users that a solution is being worked on. Kev mentioned, “Thank you for making us aware of this problem and thanks for tagging us. We can understand how frustrating this must be and have escalated the problem to our support teams. They will work with ITV to fix the issue. As soon as I have more information, I’ll update everyone.”
For now, users may have to endure the skipping problems, but a resolution is hopefully in progress. Mirror Online will provide updates as soon as new information becomes available.
