Labour leader Keir Starmer criticized Nigel Farage’s Reform Party for welcoming another defector from the Conservative Party. During a heated session of Prime Minister’s Questions, Boris Johnson teased Kemi Badenoch about Conservative members defecting to Reform, with former Chancellor Nadhim Zahawi being the latest to switch sides.

Starmer accused Reform of having a mayoral candidate who dislikes London, a new Tory member who faced tax payment issues, and a leader who spends more time in France than in his own constituency. Johnson jokingly mentioned the “Ikea shadow cabinet” while visiting an Ikea store, implying that the Reform Party is made up of disloyal former Tories.

Referring to Farage’s involvement in recruiting ex-Tory politicians, Johnson mocked the situation, suggesting that Badenoch sought advice on saving her party from Zahawi before his defection. Badenoch responded confidently, stating that she is doing fine without the Prime Minister’s concern. Farage, in turn, criticized Reform’s London mayoral candidate for their alleged shortcomings.

The ongoing political exchanges highlight the tensions between parties as defections continue to shape the political landscape.
