The incident unfolded at the Le Meridien Khao Lak Resort and Spa on July 4, 2024. Turner, aged 61, confessed to assaulting his wife, who recounted the harrowing ordeal at Hull Crown Court.
The victim endured being strangled, punched in the head, and kicked in the legs by Turner, who was described as enraged and out of control during the assault. Prosecutors revealed that Turner, along with his wife, adult son, and father, were on holiday in Thailand when the violent altercation occurred. Turner, under the influence of alcohol, accused his wife of disappearing, leading to a series of violent acts against her.
Turner physically assaulted his wife, causing extensive bruising to her head, face, body, and limbs. The victim, traumatized by the attack, shared the profound impact it had on her life, affecting her mental health, personal relationships, and work. She described experiencing panic attacks, nightmares, and extreme fear of Turner following the incident.
In court, Turner expressed deep remorse for his actions, acknowledging the gravity of the situation.
