Last night, an unidentified individual wearing a mask entered a pub in West Dublin, where patrons reportedly intervened to prevent the person from firing a gun. Gardai quickly responded to the incident at The 79 Inn in Ballyfermot after receiving information that an armed man had entered the establishment. Witnesses claim that the timely action of individuals in the pub, including throwing a bar stool at the gunman, thwarted any potential shots being fired.
The target of the attack managed to escape as the occupants of the pub fought back against the assailant, who was described as wearing a balaclava. The gunman fled the scene as law enforcement officers rushed to the location. The altercation is believed to have stemmed from an earlier argument. Gardai stated that they are investigating the incident at a licensed establishment in Ballyfermot and confirmed that no injuries were reported. Inquiries into the matter are ongoing.
