John Alford, known for his roles in popular TV shows like Grange Hill and London’s Burning, has been sentenced to eight and a half years in prison. Alford, using his real name John Shannon during the trial, was convicted in September for sexually assaulting two teenage girls at a party in April 2022.
Throughout the trial, Alford denied engaging in any sexual activity with the victims. Despite his protests, the court found him guilty at trial. Investigator Laura Harrison from Hertfordshire Constabulary’s Sexual Offences Investigation Team commended the bravery of the victims for coming forward and reporting the crimes.
