Greene King is offering complimentary pints of Guinness this weekend to coincide with the start of the Six Nations rugby tournament.

To enjoy your free pint, simply reserve a table for any Six Nations match on February 7 through the Greene King website and present your booking confirmation at the bar.

This promotion is valid at all Greene King sports pubs, including Flaming Grill, Hungry Horse, and Belhaven, as part of the new Fans Reunited initiative featuring Rugby World Cup champions Martin Johnson and Jason Robinson.

Zoe Bowley, Managing Director of Greene King pubs, expressed that Fans Reunited recognizes the significant role of sports and the pub environment in uniting people. By launching during the Guinness Six Nations and providing reunited fans with a complimentary pint, the aim is to facilitate reconnecting moments among old acquaintances over a drink.

Rugby legend Martin Johnson highlighted the ability of rugby to bring people together, emphasizing the enduring friendships forged through the sport and the community spirit it fosters, echoing the ethos of Greene King’s Fans Reunited campaign.

Moreover, the government recently announced a 15% reduction in business rates for pubs and music venues starting in April as part of a comprehensive support package. This decision follows pressure on the government to address changes made in the November budget and the conclusion of pandemic-related assistance.

Treasury minister Dan Tomlinson stated that this support would equate to an average of £1,650 savings for pubs next year. However, other hospitality sectors like hotels, restaurants, and cafes will not receive the same level of additional aid.

Emma McClarkin, chief executive of the BBPA, welcomed the tailored support for pubs, emphasizing its role in alleviating financial pressures and preserving the viability of these establishments amid rising operational costs.
