Struggling households in Worcestershire are encouraged to verify their eligibility for potential support of up to £500 towards energy bills. To qualify, residents must reside in Malvern, Worcester, Wychavon, Bromsgrove, Redditch, or Wyre Forest District, with an annual gross household income not exceeding £24,570 for individuals without children.

For households with children under 18 or young adults in full-time education up to 21, the assistance can amount to £500, while other households may receive up to £300 in aid. The support, part of the Household Support Fund initiated by Worcestershire County Council, aims to aid vulnerable families. Applications can be made through the Act On Energy website, and payments will be disbursed directly to energy suppliers or via Post Office vouchers for pre-payment customers.

In contrast, Surrey County Council is offering supermarket vouchers worth up to £300 to residents meeting specific criteria. These vouchers can be redeemed at various supermarkets including Aldi, Asda, Farmfoods, Iceland, Morrisons, Sainsbury’s, Tesco, and Waitrose. Nottingham City Council, on the other hand, is distributing £100 vouchers to low-income individuals or those receiving benefits, with a random selection process for 10,000 households.

Similarly, Wakefield Council is providing food vouchers to low-income households receiving council tax assistance. Pensioners receiving Council Tax Support have already received £70 vouchers, while additional vouchers are scheduled for distribution to other eligible households. Council Tax Support recipients will receive £50 vouchers from December 15, with £70 vouchers allocated to all other qualifying households between December 3 and December 12.
