David Malukas set the pace during the practice session at the Ontario Honda Dealers Indy in Markham by clocking a time of 1 minute and 14.194 seconds in the second training session of the day. The qualifying rounds are scheduled for the evening.

Following Malukas, Alex Palou secured the second-best time with a lap time of 1:14.560, while Dennis Hauger claimed the third spot with a time of 1:14.592 around the Markham downtown road course.

The first day of track sessions had to be canceled as the course was incomplete and had not yet undergone safety inspections. This year marks the first time that Markham is hosting the race, following its relocation from Toronto’s Exhibition Place, where it had been held since its inception in 1986.

In the morning’s initial practice session, Palou had topped the charts with a fastest time of 1:14.9915.
