Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen expressed frustration over receiving unsolicited beauty advice. Frederiksen, aged 48, shared on Instagram that upon returning home from a trip to Ukraine, where she faced air raid sirens amid the ongoing conflict, she found a message from a plastic surgeon offering to address a perceived flaw on her nose.
She revealed that she has received numerous messages critiquing her appearance over the years, including comments about her teeth, hair, and a supposed ‘wart’ on her nose, along with suggestions for Botox. Frederiksen posted a screenshot of the plastic surgeon’s proposal without disclosing his identity.
The Social Democrat leader, serving as Denmark’s second female prime minister in her third term, emphasized her contentment with her body and dismissed the plastic surgeon’s unsolicited opinion. Frederiksen has been a prominent figure in European politics, leading Denmark since mid-2019 and advocating against U.S. President Donald Trump’s interests in Greenland while supporting Ukraine in its conflict with Russia.
She highlighted on Instagram that she respects others’ appearances and urged people to engage in more meaningful conversations rather than focusing on her physical features. Frederiksen conveyed feeling indignant about the unsolicited beauty advice and extended empathy to those dealing with societal pressures of perfection.
