Aldi has integrated InPost Lockers into over 500 of its locations in the UK. These lockers enable customers to conveniently collect and return online orders while shopping at the supermarket. The InPost lockers have been rolled out to 536 Aldi stores in England, Scotland, and Wales, with plans to expand to more stores in the coming months. The goal is to have at least 600 stores equipped with lockers by the end of the year out of Aldi’s total 1,050 stores.

According to Jonathan Neale, Managing Director of National Real Estate at Aldi UK, the addition of InPost lockers aligns with the company’s commitment to providing convenience and efficiency for shoppers. The initiative aims to save customers time and money by offering a seamless experience of picking up or returning parcels alongside their regular shopping routine.

Neil Kuschel, CEO at InPost UK, emphasized the collaborative effort between InPost and Aldi to enhance the shopping experience for customers nationwide. Together, they are striving to offer a more convenient, cost-effective, and sustainable solution for managing parcels, ensuring easy accessibility for collection and returns.

In a separate development, Aldi has released a list of priority locations in the UK for potential new store openings. The company is seeking sites capable of accommodating stores with specific size requirements and accessibility criteria. Additionally, Aldi is exploring locations for its Aldi Local store format in Central London, focusing on specific zones and space specifications.

Individuals with potential sites matching Aldi’s criteria are encouraged to contact realestateacquisitions@aldi.co.uk. This expansion initiative is part of Aldi’s £650 million investment plan for the year, with a long-term goal of reaching 1,500 stores in the UK.

Moreover, Aldi has increased the pay rates for store assistants, with hourly wages rising to a minimum of £12.75 and £14.05 within the M25 earlier this year. The company has committed to further pay raises for store colleagues starting from September 2025, aiming to set new minimum rates of £12.85 per hour nationally and £14.16 per hour for those within the M25.
