A soon-to-be mother was forcefully pulled into a pond and nearly drowned by her partner after she shared pictures of them at their baby shower. The pregnant teenager, unnamed, uploaded images of herself and her partner Dominic Thomas on Facebook, which triggered his violent reaction. Thomas, a 19-year-old who was in a hidden relationship with another woman, was concerned that his secret partner would see the photos. His fears materialized as she did see the pictures, leading Thomas, residing in Kansas, USA, to send threatening messages to his pregnant girlfriend, stating his intention to take action.
In a disturbing turn of events, Thomas menacingly assured her of his intentions, declaring it as a promise rather than a threat. He callously mentioned disregarding any consequences. Subsequently, he received a 15-year prison sentence for attempted murder.
Responding to his threats, his 17-year-old pregnant girlfriend expressed her dismay at his callous remarks, highlighting the gravity of the situation. Amid their arguments, triggered by the revelation of Thomas’s infidelity, the girlfriend disclosed the events that unfolded after the baby shower photographs were posted online.
The situation escalated the day before the incident, as Thomas sent threatening texts to his girlfriend before attempting to drown her at a pond in Wichita. During their conversation at the pond, Thomas expressed feelings of loneliness and despair, hinting at drastic actions he planned to take. The struggle ensued, culminating in Thomas forcibly dragging his girlfriend toward the pond, where he attempted to drown her while she pleaded for mercy.
Thomas later confessed to law enforcement that his emotions were stirred when the girlfriend mentioned their child, prompting him to halt the assault and leave the scene. Despite his actions, he admitted to intending to drown her due to the complicated situation he found himself in with his other partner. Thomas, now 24, was found guilty of attempted first-degree murder after a lengthy trial in 2024.
