An 11-year-old girl is in critical condition at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital in Oakland after being shot in the head by a stranger while seated in her father’s car. The incident occurred around 12:40 pm on Monday in the apartment complex parking lot. The gunman, identified as Ryan Hardy, fired shots indiscriminately, hitting the girl in the head.

The victim’s father, who remains unnamed for safety reasons, shared the heartbreaking moment when his daughter asked why she couldn’t see after the shooting. The family is devastated, with the father expressing immense grief and fear over the incident.

Ryan Hardy, the suspect, is at large and considered armed and dangerous. Authorities have urged the public to report any information about his whereabouts and warned against assisting him, as it could lead to arrest as an accessory. The investigation is ongoing.

In response to the tragedy, the family has initiated a GoFundMe campaign to support their relocation for safety reasons. The funds raised will help cover medical expenses and support the girl’s recovery, which will require extensive care and therapy.

The campaign emphasizes the family’s hardworking nature and the unexpected need for assistance in their current situation. Donations have surpassed $7,800 and continue to support the family during this difficult time.
