A significant number of individuals experience a rebellious phase during their teenage years, but Jamie Lee Arrow had a unique reason for her rebellious behavior. At only nine years old, Jamie discovered that her father had committed a heinous act, having killed and consumed his girlfriend.
Jamie’s father, Isakin Drabbad, had separated from her mother when she was very young. Despite the separation, Jamie maintained contact with her father and had developed a close bond with his girlfriend, Helle Christensen, who had become like a second mother to her. However, the relationship between Helle and Isakin was toxic and marked by frequent violence, with Jamie witnessing disturbing altercations between them during her childhood.
The tragic turn of events came when Helle solemnly warned Jamie as she served her a meal, stating, “Enjoy your meal… this is the last time I’ll ever cook for you, because Isakin is going to kill me.”
Unfortunately, Helle’s words proved to be prophetic. In November 2010, Drabbad, who identified himself as a Satanist, brutally murdered Helle by slashing her throat, decapitating her, and consuming parts of her body. In a chilling interview with LadBible, Jamie recounted how her mother tried to shield her from the devastating truth about her father, leading her to lament, “My life as I knew it didn’t exist anymore.”
“I was restricted from watching TV, listening to the radio, going to shops, and even attending school for a month. The curtains were kept drawn to prevent passersby from peeking in,” Jamie shared about the aftermath of the horrifying incident.
As Drabbad’s trial unfolded, the gruesome details of his actions captivated public attention. Reports revealed that after murdering Helle, Drabbad proceeded to desecrate her body by undressing her with the murder weapon and engaging in disturbing acts.
Using various tools, including a knife, saw, and axe, Drabbad dismembered Helle’s body, cooked some of her flesh with cannabis leaves as a garnish, and even planned to consume parts of her remains, including her head.
Recalling her mother’s attempts to shield her from the grim reality of Drabbad’s crimes, Jamie remembered the moment she was confronted with her father’s heinous acts through media coverage that left her shocked and disturbed.
Despite her mother’s efforts to protect her innocence, Jamie’s curiosity led her to investigate the term “cannibal” online, uncovering the gruesome truth about her father’s actions, which left her deeply unsettled.
Even after Drabbad was convicted and confined to a secure facility, his disturbing behavior persisted, including forming relationships with notorious inmates and engaging in provocative online activities, further adding to the shock and trauma experienced by Jamie.
Having endured a tumultuous upbringing marked by her father’s actions, Jamie found solace in distancing herself from his influence and embracing a path focused on shielding her own children from similar darkness that plagued her childhood.
