Misfits heavyweight champion Chase DeMoor has disclosed that his opponent, Andrew Tate, insisted on including a weight clause in their upcoming showdown. Tate, aged 39, who is transitioning to professional boxing on December 20, has a background as a kickboxer and a former champion, but injuries affected the latter part of his kickboxing career.
Following hints of a comeback, Tate’s return will not be in kickboxing, as he has signed with Misfits for a match against reigning heavyweight king DeMoor. The duo recently engaged in a heated press conference in Dubai, just over two weeks before their anticipated bout.
DeMoor faced a brief delay as Tate initially failed to show up but eventually arrived in grand fashion, arriving on a boat with his entourage. The champion then revealed that a weight clause had been added to their contracts, a move he criticized as not in his favor.
The verbal exchange between the two fighters escalated as DeMoor accused Tate of being scared and imposing stipulations, leading to a tense exchange at the press conference. Meanwhile, the official weight limits for the fight remain undisclosed, similar to the upcoming showdown between Jake Paul and Anthony Joshua.
In preparation for the fight, Tate, known for his kickboxing career at light-heavyweight, expressed his serious approach towards boxing and readiness for the challenge. On the other hand, DeMoor continued to challenge and criticize Tate, emphasizing his confidence in the upcoming match.
The highly anticipated match between Tate and DeMoor is scheduled for December 20 at the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Stadium. Viewers can watch the event live on Rumble Premium, with a monthly subscription cost of £7.48 ($9.99).
