Apple has unveiled a major software update designed to enhance creativity among users. The tech giant from the United States is introducing a new service named Creative Studio, allowing MacBook and iPad owners to access premium software at a more affordable monthly rate.

This platform provides complete access to professional applications like Final Cut Pro for video editing, Logic Pro for music creation, and Pixelmator Pro as an alternative to Adobe’s Photoshop.

Upon its launch later in the month, Apple customers will pay £12.99 per month or £129 annually for the service, offering great value considering the software included in the package. For instance, Final Cut Pro alone costs £300 on the App Store, while Logic Pro is priced at £200.

By offering these tools through a subscription model, Apple aims to make them accessible to a wider audience. Eddy Cue, Apple’s senior vice president of Internet Software and Services, stated, “Apple Creator Studio is a great value that enables creators of all types to pursue their craft and grow their skills by providing easy access to the most powerful and intuitive tools for video editing, music making, creative imaging, and visual productivity — all levelled up with advanced intelligent tools to augment and accelerate workflows.”

Aside from these offerings, Apple is adding extras to Creative Studio, such as MainStage, which transforms the Mac into an instrument or voice processor. Additionally, Motion, a powerful graphics tool, allows users to create cinematic 2D and 3D effects with features like Magnetic Mask for effortless object isolation and tracking without a green screen.

Subscribers will also receive enhanced features and premium content for Keynote, Pages, and Numbers apps, with additional benefits scheduled for iPhone, iPad, and Mac devices later in the year.

While Keynote, Pages, and Numbers remain free to use, Creative Studio subscribers will enjoy improved versions of these software applications. According to Cue, “There’s never been a more flexible and accessible way to get started with such a powerful collection of creative apps for professionals, emerging artists, entrepreneurs, students, and educators to do their best work and explore their creative interests from start to finish.”

Apple Creator Studio will be accessible on the App Store starting on Wednesday, January 28, with a one-month free trial available for all users. Additionally, individuals purchasing a MacBook or iPad will be eligible for a three-month trial period.

Apple has also confirmed discounted rates for university students, offering this software bundle at just £2.99 per month or £29.99 annually to support education initiatives.
