Apple has officially announced that the new iOS 26 update will be available for iPhones worldwide on September 15. The update, unveiled at the WWDC event in June, introduces a range of new features, including a sleek design called Liquid Glass.
One notable change is the Lock Screen, where the clock now adjusts smoothly to fit the screen size. A new feature called Call Screening is also included, designed to prevent unwanted calls by verifying the caller’s identity before connecting the call.
iOS 26 offers real-time translation for calls and texts, making it convenient for frequent travelers. While the exact release time is not disclosed by Apple, previous releases suggest it may occur around 6pm. It’s important to note that not all iPhone models are compatible with the new update.
Compatible iPhone models for iOS 26 include iPhone 16 Pro/Pro Max, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16, iPhone 16e, and various other models from iPhone 11 to the latest iPhone 17. The iOS 26 release news was part of the iPhone 17 launch event.
