Carol McGiffin’s husband, Mark Cassidy, reportedly did not approve of her facelift procedure. The former Loose Women star underwent the cosmetic enhancement in 2018. Although Carol, aged 65, expressed satisfaction with the outcome, she mentioned that she wouldn’t consider another surgery due to the distressing experience she had, describing it as “butchery.”
In an interview with Woman’s Own, Carol, who married her 43-year-old partner in Thailand in February 2018, shared her reluctance towards undergoing another facelift, citing the physical and emotional toll it took on her and her husband, Mark. Despite the positive results, she described the process as harsh and not something she would willingly revisit.
Having initially received the facelift in 2018, Carol later admitted in a column for Best magazine that the procedure did not provide the lasting effects she had hoped for. She expressed her dissatisfaction with her current appearance, lamenting the aging process and her decision to opt for a comprehensive facelift rather than less invasive treatments like Botox.
Comparing herself to other women who invest in non-surgical treatments, Carol mentioned Shirley Ballas, a fellow celebrity who recently underwent rejuvenation procedures. Carol highlighted Mark’s acceptance of her natural appearance, despite the age gap between them and his own aging process, which she considered a positive aspect of their relationship.
Carol also expressed some envy towards women who undergo regular cosmetic enhancements, acknowledging her own limitations in terms of financial resources and pain tolerance. She concluded by emphasizing her appreciation for Mark’s unwavering support and acceptance of her appearance, even as she grapples with her changing self-image.
