Vicky Myers from the popular TV show “Coronation Street” has faced personal challenges off-screen. Vicky gained fame for her role as DS Lisa Swain, introduced in 2021 to aid in the Amy Barlow rape case.
Since then, Vicky has become a key figure on “Coronation Street,” captivating the show’s dedicated audience with her portrayal of Lisa. She has been involved in significant plots, including a recent intense episode on the show.
Lisa’s character has been through a whirlwind of events in Weatherfield, from solving crimes to being a suspect herself. Additionally, Lisa’s personal life on the show, co-parenting her daughter with her ex-wife, has been tumultuous, especially with the introduction of Carla Connor as a love interest.
Despite moments of happiness, Lisa’s relationship with Carla has faced challenges, particularly with Becky causing disruptions. Recent events led to Becky’s arrest, but the aftermath still strains Lisa and Carla’s bond.
Off-screen, Vicky, the actress behind Lisa, has also dealt with personal struggles. In 2010, Vicky became a single mother and later battled skin cancer, undergoing reconstructive surgery. Reflecting on those tough times, she expressed gratitude for life and the lessons learned from her health scare.
Vicky shared, “The diagnosis refocused me on what truly matters and brings me joy. Seeing the ‘Coronation Street’ sign each day reminds me of the journey I’ve been through.”
“Coronation Street” airs on ITV1 and ITVX from Monday to Friday at 8:30 pm.
