Coronation Street actress Paula Lane has welcomed her third child, whom she describes as a much-anticipated arrival. The Emmerdale star, aged 39, shared heartwarming photos of her newborn son, named Patrick, dressed in a blue knitted outfit and cozy hat, alongside his delighted parents and their pet dog.
In a touching caption accompanying the photo carousel of Paula cradling her baby wrapped in a blanket, she expressed her joy, saying, “Welcome to the ranch, Patrick. We are all completely and utterly in love. So longed for…thank you for completing us.” Additionally, Paula shared a glimpse on her Instagram Stories of her husband, Tom Shaw, holding little Patrick and a bottle of whiskey labeled ‘Paddy’ to mark his third-time fatherhood celebration.
Known for her role as Ella Forster in Emmerdale, Paula received an outpouring of congratulations from her celebrity friends following the happy news. Emmerdale’s Amy Walsh commented, “Awwww. Huge congratulations,” while I’m A Celebrity star Lisa Riley sent her best wishes, expressing, “Patrick will be loved and loved some more.”
Paula and Tom had announced their pregnancy last summer through an Instagram post, revealing their excitement for their baby boy expected in December 2025. The post, featuring a baby scan surrounded by cards for their older children, received a warm response from their followers.
Already parents to son Arthur and daughter Penny, Paula and Tom chose Alison Goldfrapp’s song Hey Hi Hello for their pregnancy announcement. Among the well-wishers was Paula’s Emmerdale co-star Lisa, who plays Mandy Dingle, and other cast members including Amy and Michelle.
Reflecting on her TV legacy, Paula gained recognition for her role as Kylie on Coronation Street, where she portrayed the character who had a significant storyline with David Platt. Despite her character’s tragic end in 2016, audiences fondly remember Paula’s impactful portrayal on the show.
