A resident of Greenland has issued a stark warning to the UK in support of Trump’s push for a US acquisition of the Danish territory, alleging that the nation is teetering on the edge of internal conflict.

Jorgen Boassen, a 51-year-old leader of a bricklaying firm who identifies as a “revolutionary,” is among a small group advocating for American control over their homeland.

Boassen fervently promotes the “Make Greenland American” cause, although he reports that his activism has strained his relationships with his fiancée and daughter.

Despite assertions by the US President that the takeover would enhance security and be a straightforward process for the US, it has been met with strong opposition. Greenland’s resolute Prime Minister has criticized the American leader for his aggressive tactics.

With a population of under 60,000, Greenland is an autonomous region within the Kingdom of Denmark, holding significance for NATO and the EU. Nevertheless, internal discord is escalating. Boassen acknowledges that his in-laws strongly oppose his pro-US campaign and alleges that his partner was terminated from her 30-year position at Air Greenland, a Danish airline, shortly after he participated in MAGA events commemorating Trump’s inauguration in Washington.

Boassen highlights a prevailing “climate of fear,” mentioning families torn apart and altercations erupting in bars. He disclosed to the Daily Mail: “My bricklaying business shuttered due to being blacklisted, a fate shared by other supportive enterprises facing backlash for backing Trump. I am currently residing in Copenhagen as locals back home are hesitant to associate with me. This encapsulates the current atmosphere in Greenland. Those in favor of American control are afraid to voice their opinions. Fear is pervasive.”

Boassen expressed concerns about the potential for civil strife in Greenland due to escalating tensions, citing Danish dominance in local businesses and the targeted suppression of individuals like him who aspire to collaborate with America.

Forewarning of violent conflict, he pointed out the widespread availability of weaponry, with nearly every household possessing firearms for hunting. He directed a cautionary message to the Prime Minister, EU, and UK, advising caution and urging a deeper understanding of Denmark’s alleged repression of the Greenlandic populace.

While Denmark and Greenland firmly state that the island is not up for sale, the dispute has strained US-European relations, with Denmark’s leader cautioning that an American acquisition could jeopardize NATO.

Sir Keir Starmer articulated his stance on Greenland during a recent conversation with Donald Trump, emphasizing that Greenland’s destiny should be determined solely by Greenland and Denmark, a sentiment he reiterated in Parliament earlier on the same day.
