Princess Kate and Prince William have frequently discussed their personal interests, ranging from unique hobbies to favorite sports, showcasing their playful and competitive sides. The royal couple leads an active lifestyle, engaging in various sports like polo, surfing, tennis, and running, and passing these interests down to their children, George, Charlotte, and Louis. However, there is one particular pastime of William’s that Kate isn’t fond of due to its high-risk nature – riding motorbikes.
Kate openly expressed her apprehension about William’s motorbike riding, especially with young children in the picture, during a visit to Dundee in 2015. She shared her worries, stating that seeing William on his motorbike always filled her with dread, hoping to keep their son George away from it.
Acknowledging Kate’s concerns, William has since reduced his motorcycle activities, prioritizing his role as a father. Despite toning down his motorbike adventures, William couldn’t resist taking a Triumph motorbike for a spin during a tour in Hinckley in 2018, enjoying the experience but lamenting that it was too short.
William obtained his motorbike license at 19 and later embarked on an adventurous charity trip with his brother, Prince Harry, across South Africa. The daring off-road journey covered 1000 miles and raised a significant sum for charity.
Kate is not the only member of the Royal Family with reservations about William’s motorcycle passion. King Charles, William’s father, has also expressed concerns about the risks involved in motorbike riding, emphasizing the importance of safety on the road.
