Brittney Sykes, who returned to the Tempo lineup after a two-month absence due to injury, recorded 15 points, five assists, and two rebounds. On the opposing side, Marina Mabrey scored 22 points for Toronto, but it wasn’t enough as the team suffered their 11th consecutive loss. Aneesah Morrow made an impact off the bench with a double-double of 14 points and 16 rebounds, setting a new franchise record.
Sykes had been sidelined with a left plantar fascia injury sustained in a previous game against the Fever, causing Toronto to endure a 10-game losing streak without her. Despite being in contention for a playoff spot earlier, the Tempo now hold the third-worst record in the WNBA, surpassing only the Connecticut Sun and Seattle Storm, who are already out of playoff contention.

A crucial moment in the game occurred when Mabrey sank a three-pointer in the final seconds with Toronto behind by four points, but the shot was invalidated by referees for a palming violation.
