Malehya Brooks-Murray, the mother of missing children Jack and Lilly Sullivan, has come forward to share her story after over 15 months of silence. She revealed that her kids vanished from their home in Lansdowne, N.S., leaving her in a state of perpetual anticipation and holding onto hope for their safe return.
Brooks-Murray, aged 28, recounted the day of their disappearance, mentioning that she last saw Lilly on the morning of May 2, 2025. The children’s stepfather, Daniel Martell, was present at their home, where they all resided together. Following the alarming silence that ensued, a massive search effort involving 1,700 search-and-rescue personnel combed through 8.5 square kilometers of rugged terrain.
Despite extensive investigations by the RCMP’s Major Crime Unit, no concrete leads have emerged, leaving Brooks-Murray in anguish over the lack of progress. She emphasized her innocence in the case and expressed frustration over the slow communication from authorities, craving answers and closure.
Amidst the turmoil, Brooks-Murray has found solace in various activities, including creating art, participating in searches for missing individuals, and preparing for a new career as an addictions counselor. She clings to the belief that her children are still alive and yearns for their safe return.
