Three remarkable individuals were honored at the 2024 Pride of Britain Awards for their outstanding contributions to society. Among them was a football fan who raised over £260,000 for charity through selling samosas, a mother who bravely rescued a 10-year-old boy from drowning, and a five-year-old girl who showed incredible courage in rebuilding her life after losing both legs.
These heroes were chosen from a large pool of public nominations and recognized at a prestigious ceremony in London hosted by Ashley Banjo and Carol Vorderman. In a heartwarming surprise, the new headline sponsor of the awards, P&O Cruises, gifted each winner a cruise holiday to enjoy with their families.
Following the awards, three of the honorees embarked on a 14-night Caribbean adventure aboard the Britannia cruise ship, exploring eight picturesque islands and indulging in top-notch entertainment.
One of the winners, Aiyla Mota, a Child of Courage, captured hearts with her resilience and positivity after surviving a severe illness that led to the amputation of both her legs. Accompanied by her family, Aiyla savored every moment of the cruise, immersing herself in the ship’s amenities and the beauty of the Caribbean islands.
Another awardee, Emily Greenwood, was recognized for her exceptional bravery in rescuing a boy caught in a riptide at a beach. Her heroic act led to a well-deserved Caribbean cruise experience, where she and her family enjoyed a relaxing and memorable vacation.
Manny Singh Kang, honored as the ITV Fundraiser of the Year, impressed with his innovative fundraising efforts for Dementia UK. His dedication to raising awareness and funds for the cause earned him a rejuvenating Caribbean cruise with his family, courtesy of P&O Cruises.
