The lifeless body of a well-known reality TV personality and disc jockey has been found washed up on a popular tourist beach, a week after he disappeared. Maycon Douglas, aged 26, went missing on New Year’s Eve after entertaining at a bar and leaving with a friend. His remains were discovered on Wednesday, a week after he was last seen.
Prior to the grim discovery, authorities had located his submerged car in the sea at North Beach, Nazaré, located north of Lisbon, Portugal. Fisherman Antonio Silva found Maycon’s body in the water and identified him by his tattoos.
Maycon’s body was located near the same area where his vehicle was recovered. His mother, distressed by the lack of news about her son, fell ill and had to be hospitalized a day before his body was found.
His girlfriend, Raquel Coelho, expressed her grief on social media, saying, “I would do anything to have you back, anything. You entered my life unexpectedly, and I am so grateful that you did.”
Despite being Brazilian, Maycon had lived in Portugal since he was four years old. Authorities are awaiting the results of an autopsy to determine the exact cause of his death, with the possibility of foul play not being ruled out.
Maycon gained fame on season 8 of the Portuguese reality TV show ‘Secret Story – Casa dos Segredos’ aired by TVI. He amassed a significant online following on Instagram and TikTok, with 50,000 and 22,000 followers respectively.
He regularly shared his daily activities with his followers, showcasing photo shoots and performances in the electronic music scene in Portugal. His final social media post was on December 30, the day before he went missing, where he wrote, “2025 was intense. We learned a lot, and lived even more. 2026 is about vision, discipline, and consistency.”
This tragic incident occurred following the death of a popular Australian DJ in a tragic accident during a vacation in Bali last January. Courtney Mills, aged 37, fell from a hotel balcony in Kuta, a beach resort in Bali, sustaining critical injuries. Despite undergoing emergency surgery, she passed away two days later surrounded by her family.
Kiana, Courtney’s devastated older sister, shared the news of Courtney’s passing on Instagram, stating, “It is with such a heavy heart that we share the news of Courtney’s passing. Mum and I arrived in Bali Saturday and were with her by her side right until the end.”
