A teenager is facing accusations of killing his neighbor and then squatting in the deceased person’s home. Xzavion Johnson has been charged with murder and burglary in relation to the death of 57-year-old David Jimenez, whose body was discovered in an advanced state of decomposition.
According to reports, Johnson had been living in his neighbor’s house without permission, prompting concerns from other residents who noticed unusual activity at the property. When police conducted a welfare check on Jimenez, they found his body in the garden, triggering Johnson’s arrest.
Johnson’s mother informed authorities that she had not seen her son since late December 2025. However, when she visited Jimenez’s home, she allegedly discovered a package addressed to her son on the front porch. Additionally, she reported a foul odor emanating from the garden where Jimenez’s body was found.
After a standoff with law enforcement, Johnson eventually surrendered and was taken into custody by the Phoenix Police Department. During questioning, he confessed to entering Jimenez’s residence with the intention of robbing him, ultimately leading to a fatal shooting.
In a separate tragic incident, a three-year-old boy was fatally attacked by his grandmother’s American Bulldog in an outdoor enclosure. The grandmother attempted to intervene but was also injured in the process. Despite immediate medical attention, the child succumbed to his injuries.
Authorities confirmed that the dog responsible for the attack has been euthanized, and there are no ongoing safety concerns for the local community. The incident occurred near New York Mills, New York, and is under investigation by the Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office.
