A teenager was quickly taken to the hospital after reportedly falling from an ambulance on a busy motorway. The incident occurred on the M6 southbound at junction 32 linking to the M55 on a Tuesday evening. Fortunately, the girl did not sustain any severe injuries.
Lancashire Police responded to a road traffic collision, leading to the closure of the motorway for a period while the situation was assessed. Commuters were advised to find alternative routes to avoid the area.
The incident was initially reported at 5:17 pm, and by approximately 7 pm, all lanes were reopened. Lancashire Police confirmed that a teenage girl had fallen from the back of an ambulance onto the M6 southbound to M55 slip road but thankfully did not suffer serious injuries.
In a separate incident, a woman in her 60s tragically lost her life following a crash in a layby. A man was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. The fatal collision involving a grey Porsche Cayenne, a red Fiat 500, and a white Volvo Tipper lorry occurred between Hertford and Broxbourne.
The driver of the Fiat, a woman in her 60s, was outside the vehicle during the collision and unfortunately passed away at the scene despite efforts by emergency responders. Authorities are investigating the circumstances of the crash and are appealing for witnesses or anyone with relevant information to come forward.
The driver of the Porsche, a man in his sixties, was arrested in connection with the incident and has been released on bail pending further investigations. Witnesses are urged to contact the authorities with any details or dashcam footage that could assist in the investigation.
