Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs has reportedly made multiple appeals to Donald Trump for a pardon regarding his prison sentence. However, the 79-year-old US President has labeled the disgraced rapper as “very hostile” and indicated that he will not grant the request. Their friendship deteriorated when Trump first ran for president in 2016, despite previously being on good terms.
Following Combs’ conviction on prostitution-related charges, the music industry figure, also known as P Diddy, was sentenced to 50 months in jail in October. Despite this, he is now seeking assistance from his former ally, Trump.
In a recent statement, Trump expressed his firm stance against granting Combs’ plea. The President claimed that their relationship soured due to Combs’ negative comments about him during the 2016 election campaign.
Photographs from the late 1990s depict P Diddy and Trump at various events during the peak of the musician’s career and when Trump was establishing his wealth through real estate endeavors.
Reportedly, Combs reached out to Trump through a letter last month, requesting a pardon just a few months into his prison term. However, Trump did not present the letter when questioned about it.
In a previous interview, Trump’s comments painted a bleak picture for the 56-year-old music mogul, who hails from New York City. Combs was convicted of prostitution-related charges but was acquitted of the more severe allegations of racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking involving Cassie Ventura, and an unnamed woman known as ‘Jane’.
