Max Verstappen’s win at the recent Las Vegas Grand Prix has gained more significance following the disqualification of Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri. Norris, who was leading Piastri by 24 points in the drivers’ standings, was penalized along with his McLaren teammate. Verstappen, who was trailing by 25 points, has now closed the gap to 42 points behind Norris after securing victory in Vegas.

The McLaren drivers were summoned by the stewards post-race due to their cars’ skid blocks being found non-compliant with regulations. Verstappen, already delighted by his triumph over Norris, saw his chances improve further with McLaren’s disqualifications.

Meanwhile, George Russell of Mercedes was elevated to second place in the race results, with his teammate Kimi Antonelli moving up to third. Mercedes is in a celebratory mood, especially as this marks Antonelli’s third podium finish in his debut F1 season.

Looking ahead, the focus shifts to the upcoming Qatar Grand Prix, where only two races remain before the season concludes in Abu Dhabi. Verstappen aims to capitalize on the situation and close the gap on Norris further, hoping for a shot at the championship title.

Verstappen’s recent successes in Qatar and Abu Dhabi give him confidence, but Norris remains a strong contender with his consistent performances throughout the season. The championship battle intensifies as the season heads towards its climax, with both drivers eyeing the coveted title.

In a possible scenario where Verstappen and Norris end up tied in points, the championship outcome would hinge on race wins. Norris currently leads in this aspect, having secured seven victories compared to Verstappen’s six.

With the championship race heating up, Verstappen needs to maintain his winning streak while hoping for Norris to stumble in the final races. The title showdown promises to be a thrilling finale as the two drivers vie for F1 glory.
