In a message to Mirror Online, BT stressed the urgency to act promptly as the nationwide upgrade enters its final year. Ignoring communication from service providers could result in disruptions to phone or broadband services as the deadline approaches.
The era of copper wires is coming to an end, underlining the importance of ensuring that your landline and home phone are ready for the upcoming change. Switching to digital services is straightforward for most users, with compatibility for many BT handsets and the option to retain existing phone numbers without any price increase. Simple steps like connecting the home phone to the broadband hub instead of the conventional wall socket can facilitate the transition, while additional support for users with specific needs, such as telecare devices or pendant alarms, is encouraged.
