Protests in Iran have entered their second week, with the government acknowledging the ongoing demonstrations as the country remains isolated from global communication. Internet services and phone lines have been disrupted, making it challenging to monitor the protests against the Iranian regime from outside. The death toll has risen to at least 65 people, with over 2,300 individuals detained, as reported by the US-based Human Rights Activists News Agency.

Iranian state television has highlighted security force casualties and emphasized control over the nation, while Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has hinted at an impending crackdown, despite warnings from the US. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio expressed support for the Iranian people, stating, “The United States stands with the courageous people of Iran.” The US State Department cautioned against underestimating President Trump’s commitments, emphasizing the seriousness of his statements.

Saturday marked the beginning of the workweek in Iran, with reports of schools and universities conducting online classes. Iranian state TV showcased pro-government demonstrations alongside a musical composition by Iranian composer Majid Entezami, commemorating Iran’s liberation of Khorramshahr during the Iran-Iraq war. The same song has been used in protests following the death of Mahsa Amini in 2022.

Despite state TV reports of calm in most cities at night, online videos showed demonstrations in Tehran and Isfahan. Footage revealed protesters engaging in violent acts, including firing weapons and setting fires. Casualties were reported in various locations, including members of the Revolutionary Guard and security officials.

The ongoing unrest has led to clashes and fires in Tehran, with thousands of Iranians rallying against the ruling regime. The death toll from the uprising has reached 65, as citizens continue to voice their dissent.
