Vodafone Introduces AI-Powered Scam Call Protection Service
The rise of unwanted phone calls has become a common issue for smartphone users, with an average of eight such calls reported monthly by UK consumers. These calls often aim to trick individuals into sharing personal information and credit card details for fraudulent activities.
To address this growing concern, Vodafone has unveiled a new feature named Scam Call Protection. This innovative service utilizes artificial intelligence to detect and highlight suspicious calls, including potential scams, spam, and nuisance calls.
Operating discreetly in the background, the system analyzes all incoming calls. If any irregularities are detected, customers will receive a straightforward on-screen notification alerting them to a potential scam call.
Rob Winterschladen, Vodafone’s Consumer Director, emphasized the challenge of identifying scam calls and the importance of feeling secure. He highlighted that Scam Call Protection on Vodafone Secure Net Mobile provides an additional layer of security by continuously monitoring calls and flagging known or suspected scam calls. This initiative reinforces Vodafone’s commitment to offer comprehensive digital security solutions, empowering users to feel safer and more informed in their digital interactions.
The Scam Call Protection feature is integrated into Vodafone’s Secure Net Mobile platform, which already includes advanced parental controls, round-the-clock ID monitoring to prevent identity theft, and real-time virus and malware protection.
Interested individuals can test the service free of charge for three months before opting for a subscription priced at £2 per month.
