Justin Rose expressed his ambition to achieve a career Grand Slam after surpassing Tiger Woods’ scoring record to secure victory at the Farmers Insurance Open. The 45-year-old golfer, ranked No.3 in the world, emphasized his desire to continue competing at a high level and dismissed talks of assuming the role of European captain in 2027 if Luke Donald opts out.

Rose, who led wire-to-wire at Torrey Pines with a stellar performance finishing at 23-under 265, surpassed the previous records set by Tiger Woods and George Burns. Reflecting on his win, Rose playfully acknowledged Woods and credited his focus in the final holes for the triumph.

Having experienced a resurgence in his game, Rose highlighted the importance of maintaining confidence and accessing his full potential more consistently. With an impressive track record of 13 tour titles at prestigious venues like Muirfield Village, Pebble Beach, and Torrey Pines, Rose remains focused on pursuing additional major victories to elevate his career achievements.

Despite already clinching the US Open title in 2013 and an Olympic gold medal, Rose remains driven to secure multiple major championships. He acknowledged the challenges but remains optimistic about his chances, drawing motivation from recent strong performances.

While Brooks Koepka had a modest finish at the PGA Tour, Rose, who declined an offer from the LIV Golf league, reiterated his commitment to competing on the European and PGA Tours against the best in the world. He emphasized that his career aspirations align with the competitive nature of these tours, fueling his determination and hunger for success.
