WhatsApp users have reason to celebrate as the popular messaging app has unveiled a significant update for its massive user base. The update comes with a host of new features, including long-awaited iPad support, enhanced in-car functionality, improved PDF tools, and a simpler method for sharing music with contacts.
According to the messaging platform owned by Meta, the updates are aimed at enhancing the user experience by ensuring seamless operation across various devices used daily.
In a statement to Mirror Online, WhatsApp mentioned, “Your key conversations are no longer confined to your phone alone.”
The latest update allows iPad owners to create and register a WhatsApp account directly through the iPad app, eliminating the need for pairing with a phone, a feature users have long been requesting.
Moreover, drivers will benefit from a revamped experience as WhatsApp has redesigned its Apple CarPlay and Android Auto apps, enabling users to manage messages, calls, call history, and favorite contacts directly from the car’s display, promoting safer driving habits.
Users can now open PDF files directly within chats without the need for downloading them first, and on web and desktop versions, PDFs can be highlighted and annotated within WhatsApp, thanks to Adobe Acrobat integration.
Music enthusiasts can now easily share tracks from Apple Music and Spotify directly to their WhatsApp Status, facilitating the sharing of their current playlists with friends.
The new features are currently being rolled out, so users may not see them immediately but should receive them through a forthcoming app update.
