Grab your sparkliest attire and your most towering blonde wig. Dollyfest is scheduled for 2027 without its iconic star, as the event has evolved into a tribute to Dolly Parton’s legacy.
Originally planned to coincide with Parton’s 80th birthday in January, the cross-continental music festival was postponed last September due to health concerns. Parton’s estate has now confirmed that the “star-studded” festival will take place in Nashville and London over two consecutive weekends next year.
The passing of the “Queen of Country” at the age of 80 has left many mourning fans. Known for creating timeless hits like “Jolene,” “I Will Always Love You,” and “9 to 5,” Parton brightened the world with her humor, rhinestones, and extensive philanthropic efforts.
Dollyfest organizers have promised that the event will embody the joyful spirit that Parton wanted to share with her fans. While details about the festival, including specific dates and musical performances, remain undisclosed, the anticipation for a celebration fitting of Parton’s charisma is high.
Dollywood, the theme park in the Great Smoky Mountains owned by Parton, has also announced special additions to honor the late singer. Guests visiting in 2027 will have the opportunity to record their memories of Parton and how she inspired them at designated kiosks in the park. Other tributes include a waterfall near the Robert F. Thomas Chapel and a new park attraction inspired by Parton’s Imagination Library.
Furthermore, Sevierville, Tennessee, Parton’s hometown, is launching “In Dolly’s Footsteps” in collaboration with Dollywood. This city-wide project will feature walking-tour markers at key locations in Parton’s life story, such as The Pines Theatre, where she performed her first show at just 10 years old.
