A well-known online beauty retailer is considering a potential sale as it has engaged advisors to assess its business operations. Beauty Bay, established in 1999 by brothers Arron and David Gabbie in Manchester, offers a wide range of products from over 200 brands, including popular names like Ariana Grande, Clinique, and MAC, in addition to its own product line.
According to a recent report from Sky News, Beauty Bay is exploring various funding options, including the possibility of selling the company. Interpath, an advisory firm, is said to be collaborating with Beauty Bay on this initiative. Currently, Beauty Bay has a team of 65 employees, and inquiries have been made to the company for further comments.
In a related development, beauty brand Malin + Goetz has faced financial difficulties, leading to the closure of its seven stores in London, impacting over 70 jobs. Online orders from Malin + Goetz have been temporarily suspended, with a message on their website indicating a temporary halt in online sales. However, customers can still purchase Malin + Goetz products through third-party retailers like Liberty, John Lewis, and Space NK.
Malin+Goetz has shared that after a thorough business review and exploring all options, they have made the tough decision to file for administration in the UK, resulting in store closures and job losses. The company plans to bring its website back online after a brief maintenance period. Originally launched in New York in 2004 by Matthew Malin and Andrew Goetz, Malin + Goetz initially focused on six skincare products but has since expanded into various beauty categories, including fragrance and bodycare.
