Corus Entertainment Announces Staffing Changes in TV and Radio Divisions

Corus Entertainment has implemented workforce adjustments within its television and radio segments. A representative from the company disclosed that a limited number of modifications have been made in specific regions, affecting positions at Global B.C., Global National, News 640, and talk radio. These alterations, though challenging, are deemed necessary to ensure that the company’s teams are structured in a sustainable manner, while striving to minimize disruptions to local news and audio services.

This recent development follows a previous round of job cuts earlier this year, primarily concentrated in Western Canada, as part of nationwide programming adjustments. Corus had reported a net loss of $36.5 million for its third quarter, with revenue declining by 16% compared to the previous year. The company is currently seeking approval for its proposed restructuring strategy, which involves creditors exchanging debt for ownership stakes in a new corporate entity.
