In Poland, a 35-year-old murder suspect was cleverly located by police following a tip from his six-year-old child. The man, who was wanted by authorities for a previous crime, attempted to hide in a local apartment in Wola Krzysztoporska, near Łódź.
Upon arriving at the apartment, officers were met by the suspect’s 33-year-old partner, who initially denied his presence. She claimed to be the only adult in the residence, besides her child. However, during a search, the child quietly revealed the man’s whereabouts by saying, “Daddy is playing hide and seek,” pointing to a sofa bed. Subsequently, the police lifted the seat to find the fugitive attempting to evade justice.
The man was promptly arrested and taken into custody to begin serving a 15-year prison sentence. The partner may also face legal consequences for her actions during the incident, potentially leading to a sentence of up to five years. The Regional Court in Legnica issued the capture order for the man, with the investigation managed by the Głogów District Prosecutor’s Office.
Assistant Inspector Edyta Daroch of the Municipal Police Headquarters in Piotrków Trybunalski stated that the child’s revelation led to the successful apprehension of the suspect. In other news, a former burglar provided valuable advice on handling intruders, emphasizing the importance of avoiding direct confrontation and taking immediate safety measures in case of a break-in.
Remember to prioritize your safety by following security guidelines and seeking help promptly if needed.
