Donald Trump has delivered a strong message to Iran, indicating that his administration is closely monitoring the situation and has deployed a fleet to the Middle East in response to ongoing protests. Speaking aboard Air Force One after a significant address at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, the US President emphasized the vigilance towards Iran and the deployment of military assets in the region.
“We have a significant flotilla headed in that direction. We are observing the situation closely. We hope for a peaceful resolution, but we are prepared,” Trump stated. The US has mobilized US F-15 Strike Eagles in Jordan and is assembling the USS Abraham Lincoln Carrier Strike Group, equipped with F-35 stealth aircraft and destroyers, to move towards Iran from the South China Sea.
Trump hinted at potential strikes on Tehran, but expressed hope that military action may not be necessary. He claimed responsibility for influencing Tehran’s decision to halt the execution of hundreds of protesters. Describing Iran’s actions as outdated, Trump warned of severe consequences if further escalation occurs.
Tensions have escalated in the Persian Gulf, with the US positioning military assets in the region. Trump, in an interview with CNBC, hinted at possible future actions while condemning Iran’s violent crackdown on protesters. He also mentioned authorizing additional B-2 bombers for potential missions, praising their effectiveness in past operations.
This development follows Trump’s previous orders to bomb Iranian nuclear facilities using the stealth bombers, resulting in significant damage to Iran’s nuclear program. Intelligence reports confirmed the success of the bombings in hitting their targets accurately and inflicting substantial damage.
